AARO is the 13th generation of the Atreyu Moniaga Project (AMP), an independent incubation program founded by artist Atreyu Moniaga that focuses on nurturing emerging artists through long-term mentorship, artistic development, and collaborative learning. Bringing together Ada Khansa, Ansn Martin, Red Maerra, and Oddyendry, AARO marks the culmination of a 19-month journey that challenged each artist to develop not only their visual language, but also their confidence, discipline, and sense of purpose as artists.
The name “AARO” originates from the initials of the four participating artists while also evoking the image of a mountain.
A symbol of resilience, endurance, and the difficult climb of becoming an artist. Through painting, storytelling, and experimental visual approaches, the exhibition explores themes of identity, memory, uncertainty, belonging, and the emotional complexities of growing up in contemporary urban life.
More than a group exhibition, AARO reflects AMP’s long-standing belief that art is built through process, persistence, and community. Since its beginning, AMP has served as a space where young artists can learn to navigate doubt, criticism, and creative pressure together. AARO stands as both a celebration of that journey and a testament to a new generation of artists ready to step forward with their own voices.
